What I was told was the VW Van was Parked behind the 65 Tempest, then the 57 Chevy rear ended the Van. A witness said at the moment of impact the front of the Van "leaped" into the air and it came down on top of the trunk of the Pontiac, just as the 57 Chevy then rear ended the Tempest. I was told the Van actually drove away under its own power. The other 2 cars not so much! I was also told that the box on the street next to the Tempest was actually on the roof rack of the VW at the time of impact. It would have been interesting to see!
