Probably the most recent long roof release in 1/87 scale is the 54 Buick wagon. The only other 1/87 scale wagons Oxford makes is the 42 Chrysler "barrel back" Tone and Country, and the 57 Nomad. Oxford does have several interesting non-wagon models coming out in the near future too. Some of those include a 66 GTO, 59 Plymouth in police and taxi versions, 65 Barracuda, 60 Ford Fairlane 4 door post sedan, 57 Olds convertible, 58 Impala coupe, 55 Chrysler New Yorker coupe, and 50 Nash Rambler. https://www.oxforddiecast.co.uk/collections/1-87
Every time I see a ‘59 Plymouth cab I think of Peter Falk and It’s a Mad Mad Mad Mad world. Those poor Plymouths. But hey the wrecked an Imperial! Think that toy one is even marked and numbered like those were.
I went to a long-time hobby shop I found out about a couple weeks ago; I picked up two vehicles: Oxford '57 Chevy Nomad And a Mini-Metals gasoline tanker; this will have the trailer paired with a Mack Model B, so it will be repainted in Gulf Oil's orange and purple:
I also scored a German Fleischmann Baldwin diesel switcher and a Lionel HO scale 40' tanker, for which neither have been made for around fifty years.
Got a couple more vehicles, although one isn't a wagon, and the other barely counts as a longroofs: AFAIK, no one else does any Civil Defense vehicles in HO, and they were all over the place in the Fifties and early Sixties. I think Civil Defense dwindled down after the Guv'mint figured out there was no surviving nuclear attack beyond putting your head between your knees and kissing your @$$ goodbye.
So I went back to the hobby shop, scored a couple more Oxford vehicles: They had a couple Turnpike Cruisers, and they should make the Commuter and Colony Park wagons from those.
BTW, the Buick...does it say "Dynaflow" on the rear quarters? I can't read it and I can't find my magnifier.
I bought another 'longroof,' a really long-roofed multipassenger vehicle. Care to guess what the model is?
The next wagons coming out in 1/87 scale will be Oxford's 64 Ford Country Sedan. https://www.walthers.com/ford-country-sedan-wagon-553-87fc64001 Of interest to some will be another Oxford future release, a Corvair van. https://www.walthers.com/chevy-convair-van-w-board-553-87cg61001 Since I had this back in the 80's, you can guess which one I'm looking forward to. Probably still a year away from the relese date though.
