    I'd be amazed if that little 318 would be able to reliably do more than about 45-55MPH. And being a 1963 model I bet it wants premium\leaded fuel to do that.

    I love these older camper vehicles but the old drivetrain is just a hazard in this day and age of trying to go anywhere with one.

    You have to remember, in 1963, not much of the Interstate System had been built, so most of our highways were still U.S. highways, and the speeds were lower on them, as most were not divided highways.
    So having that 318 was cheap and it still made a fair bit of power. I would swap a modern Magnum 360 into it. And make sure it has a biiiiig gas tank.

    Oh trust me, I am aware. But so many buyers don't and they buy these older cars and get upset that they won't do 80MPH on the freeway.
