I went today to take a quick look at the show field at the Carlisle 2023 Mostly Modern Mustangs Show. Actually, its the Carlisle Ford Nationals, but it is mostly modern Mustangs. Still, sticking to the part of the show field for older cars, theres still alot of interesting cars to be seen. But what's a Mopar guy like me doing at a Ford show? Well, it was sort of an excuse to go to Carlisle so I could stop at the Lindt Chocolate Factory Outlet Store that's just off I-81 in Carlisle. There were some cool wagons in the show. By far, my favorite was the unrestored survivor 1964 Country Squire. Tomorrow, Saturday June 3, 2023, is the biggest day. There may be more to see then. Also, I didn't make it to the car corral, so I don't know if there were any wagons for sale this year or not.
The spring 'Fabulous Fords Forever' show, previously held in a parking lot of Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, CA is also 'Mostly Modern Mustangs'. That being said, there is still HUNDREDS of classic Fords, Edsels, Mercurys, Lincolns, trucks, Shelbys and imported Fords to see. The show had been moved this year, to Irwindale Raceway - it was held on April 16th.
My apologies, I meant that I was asking if the raceway still was in existence and operating, not the car show. Most of the SoCal tracks are gone, urban sprawl y'all, and I thought Irwindale had already been gobbled up.
Yes, surprisingly. I had heard a year or two back it was going to close and the land sold for development, but something must have happened for them to save it. So I guess it's still open.....for now. last went there around 2002 or so......
Nice bunch of wagons there Jim. I like them all. I have a soft spot for those Edsels though. That Baby blue and white one is fabulous.
