Hi all. My name is Jeff and I'm from sunny South-West Florida. I'm 62 and until mid 2006 I was a successful Real Estate investor. Now I'm just a landlord. It will probably take me 5 years to get to the place that I was 5 years ago. My sons and I have done a few things together but I was too busy earning a living. Makes me sad that I missed that special bond with them. My youngest turned 36 in Oct. One of my projects is a 1981 Malibu Wagon. Here's a pic: The original 267 has some problems but I have several 350's and so this winter I'll probably change it over. It doesn't get cold here, so I have a few months to get it done. Oh yeah, I also posted the same post on MR and I hate intro pages so I'm going to stop while I can.
Welcome and love the Bu. You cannot change the past, or see the future, so work on today, which is a gift. That is why they call it The Present!
to the wagon train, Jeff. That Malibu should be nice with the 350 in it. Be sure and show off your other wagons. We love pictures here.
Ok, for all you "Pic" freaks out there, here are three more pics. This is my vast collection of wagons (and one P.O.S. s-10 ). View 'em & weep. btw, my Mantra is "Beaters are Better."
Thanks. No more lurking for me. Its just that I'm on about 9 or 10 forums and a family Facebook page so, I am limited with my time. btw: I grew up in Norfolk (Riverpoint). Graduated from Granby High school (Class of '65). As a kid, I knew where all the good junkyards were. South Norfolk, Chesapeake, Suffolk, the Peninsula, they're probably all gone now, but what memories I have. In the early 90's, I lived in Aragona. Been in FLA since '93__do you know, we don't have Winter here? I can work on my cars all year long.
I can too, requires my Pop's garage and a fire burningin in the woodstove during winter though. :banghead3:
Junkyards in NORVA Jeff, There are still 2 yards up by the abandoned Ford Plant on Indian River Rd. The Ford junkyard and a 2nd one by the Suffolk Airport are still there also.
Jeff, I get the feeling that you're a GM kind of wagon type. We're the same vintage, you and I, as are many here. The younguns run from 14 to 61, and some are younger in spirit, even though they beat us by a few years. Send your son a link to the site, so he can lurk for a while, especially when you post progress pics. Who knows, he might get the 'bug'.
