I love the repeated wording used in every BaT auction. Engines are always "paired" with transmissions. Later, they'll say the engine "sends power" "to the rear wheels through XXXX transmission." Wheels always "wear" wheelcovers.

They need someone to edit these postings, which are probably all written by the same person based on the info sent by the seller, to create a little variety.

At the end of the listing, it says that the Missouri title is a "duplicate." I presume this should not cause any problems. It just means that the original title was lost, which can happen when cars are this old, and a replacement was requested. For all intents and purposes, it is the only title for the car in terms of having any utility in selling the car.

My son-in-law ran into a problem in this regard just a few weeks ago when he was trying to buy a car, a 2014 Toyota Highlander, from his father. The son takes the title the father gave him to the state title agency here in Michigan (the car is from Ohio), and they tell him that the title is not valid. It turns out that the father at some point had lost the original title and requested a replacement. Since then, he found the original and apparently lost the replacement. He didn't think it was any big deal because a title is a title, right? Wrong. The replacement title became THE title, and the original title, even if found, is no longer valid. So my son-in-law could not title the car that day, and his father either has to find the replacement title OR ask for a SECOND replacement title, which requires paperwork and can take a few weeks to get . It pays to keep track of your vehicle titles!
