New to the forum and figured I'd say hello and do the intro as suggested. I love older, oddball, and unconventional vehicles. Always have since I was little. The more of those categories a vehicle fits into the better! The wagon is something I thought about buying for years but just never did. Now due to necessity- I have one, and it is named The Log. Hoping to share ideas with you all, get advice, and hopefully provide some help myself. I am a former structural welder and mechanic for many years. Now I have an office job but will always be a project guy and go out of my way to find cool old fixer uppers. That's about it, glad to be a part of the forum and appreciate what I have already learned reading here!

Welcome sir. Your Country Squire is right at home here. Thanks for sharing her, and welcome to the Forum. There are a lot of Panther body Fords and Mercs here. I have two ‘83 Colony Parks and love this style of wagon. Very right sized. Welcome again.

That's great to hear. I was actually trying to buy a 1990 Colony Park originally from the seller but when I got there, the Mercury was in pretty bad shape. The Squire, on the other hand, was in driveable condition and although it didn't have the leather interior like the Park- I do have a soft spot for cushy velour and it was in excellent condition surprisingly so it ended up being the prevailing choice. I think they are a great size too, extremely comfortable. My girlfriend and I are really excited about all the possibilities this fun-wagon will provide. I think it will be perfect for towing my cuddy cabin boat to the ramp (its primary purpose) and hauling camping gear and plywood and whatnot whenever needed. My boat is a 1970 model so they should look good coupled together in retro harmony!

You should definitely pick a name, although it can be a surprisingly tough decision!
I do have a few upgrades planned like adding an additional oil cooler to the trans cooler line (probably a must for towing), I have a class 3 receiver to bolt on, add trailer light module, install air tank in back area with compressor and hose, replace alternator with a later high amp 3G, cheap load compensating air shocks in rear, possibly replace cooling fan with electric, and definitely going to add a secondary LED flood somewhere as a reverse light for night time boat ramp maneuvers. That's the current list anyway!
