Canada’s records fo 58 must have been much better than ours. When I have a few moments I’m going to try to find a decoder.
My car body left from Fisher in Cleveland to be a v-8 but ended up a 6-cyl when it left LA.
It’s numbered as a sedan delivery but has side glass. It’s paint color was “special” and only interior trim was “FWS” meaning full width seat. No rear seat.
I have an extra number stamped into my vin tag C-58-80 that some have suggested it a govt. tracking number.

Your car is tagged as a Delray so it is likely a windowed sedan delivery.

Yes. One of about 600 ordered by govt that year even tho Ford had the govt fleet contract that year.
It is a very confusing car according to its numbers.
The missing key to my puzzle is what was the motor pool it was in while in the salt lake area, who drove it, serviced it and what did it haul?
There was one from Idaho and Montana that had an actual mechanics service invoice in it! LUCKY!

Thank you, thank you very much!
It was rebuilt at Rhodes Engines in St Charles, Mo.. All the drivetrain is original so I decided to patch everything back together and drive it as much as I can. The rear end rebuild and new springs are in the near future.
I haven’t driven it since about 1985. It’s never driven or ran this nice.

They did a very nice job. As for the frame, and all I’ve been hand sanding, priming, filling and painting as I go. Finding missing pieces and fixing up whatever is there.

I’m really liking the new floor shifter. I’ve never had one work this well in the past.
