Rare model - sounds like it has lots of issues. 1975 Buick Regal S/R - cars & trucks - by owner - vehicle automotive... (craigslist.org)
I have only seen a couple of those and that was back in the 70's. I think that model came out after they dropped the GS.
I wouldn't be too concerned about that, brochures could be inaccurate due to early-year printings and mid\late model year changes. It was a package in 1976+ consisting of buckets, console with shifter, and turn signal dimmer switch - essentially a more "sophisticated" '73-75 Pontiac Grand Am without the performance aspect behind it.
There is truly nothing about these Regal S/R models in the 1970s Buick brochures. Here's another one, a 1977, headed for boot hill. Bad rust. Hemmings Find of the Day - 1977 Buick Regal S/R | Hemmings
^^^ This one seems more familiar to me. Back in my mind, I was remembering SOMETHING about the 'S/R' designation, and I had the impression it was a special model with T-Tops. Could it be a dealer group that was having these done?
S\R was a factory Buick thing starting in 1975. It's all over their literature for the Skyhawk and Skylark and mentioned briefly in the Century, completely omitting the Regal aspects of it all (which is why I suspect it was a late model year addition). Their brochures in 1976 start mentioning it on the Regal but there's truly no real good explanation of what you got for it in the main product brochures.
