Contrary to what he says, the motor is not worth more than the asking price. Poor car, probably came from back east with that rear defroster grid (sticker from dealer says Arlington Heights, which is in Illinois). Power windows, split bench are definitely cool. Really was done in by the half vinyl top.

Why would you put 455 heads on a 400? The larger Combustion chambers would bring the compression down to under 9.0 if they used 1970 Heads? if they used 71-76 heads the compression ration would be about 6.5 unless they used domed pistons? Ugg.

I agree it is only a parts car at this point. It was a nice car, A/C, Tilt Column, Cruise, Power windows, it also looks to have a gauge package with a clock. I always liked the 73-77 GP Dash design that all Grand Leman's have. I just noticed it even has a passenger side remote sport mirror!

If the dash pad is not cracked, and the 400 block is good it may be worth close to the asking price to someone restoring a 77 GP with a 301. It would have all the parts needed to put a bigger Pontiac V8 in it. And that dash is one of the more expensive models to get redone.

Any idea what the small black box hanging by a wire from the dash is (under the turn signal lever) After market delay wipers?

Yup, that's what it is. I've only seen one, and that was back in the Seventies.

Thanks for confirming that. I actually have a NOS one in the stash that I was planning on adding to our old 71 LeMans Safari, before my wife decided to total it.

I didn't even notice the non-color-keyed seat belts. Talk about a cheapskate option to not order (it was $9).

I will say, being in California, I could easily buy that and drive the heck out of it most of the year despite the rust. But then I'd have to pass smog and it's missing way too much stuff up top and obviously mismatched down below for that. Considering the auction ended with no bids, I'd say Jeff and I's opinion on value is pretty accurate.
