One day Indian Chief 'Two Eagles' was visited by a government official. After observing the reservation, the official remarked; 'You have watched the white man for 200 years. You've seen our progress and technological advances. You've seen our wars, and the damage we've done.' The Chief nodded in agreement. The official continued, 'Considering all these things, where did the white man go wrong?' The Chief stared at the government official for over a minute and then calmly replied. 'When white man come to land, Indians running it, no taxes, no debt, plenty buffalo, plenty beaver, clean water. Medicine man free. Squaws do all housework, Indian man spend all day hunting and fishing; all night in tent with squaw.' Then the chief leaned back and smiled. 'Only white man dumb enough to think he could improve system like that.'
That official should have run for President. In my Province, we have the highest number of First Nations people and Metis. The H1N1 Vaccine goes to ANY of them, FIRST and FOREMOST, regardless of health issues. The rest have to meet all of the other 8 criteria, in a verbal qualification. People don't lie, right? They ran out yesterday, and won't have any for another 6 days. Right in the middle of Flu Season, right after telling folks to NOT get the regular Flu needle. Seems the Feds want more political Roadkill. One little girl here, died of the H1N1 Flu Shot last month, but the Govt pressed the media to bury that bad news, and then a whole bunch of Federal Cabinet members were asked if they'd get the shot, and many didn't think it was essential, so the country is split on its value. Oh, yeah, and you have to back up to three times to get a reinforcement shot. Nobody stands in lineups out here when it's below 10F!!! Sorry Steve, your post is humorous, and true enough. We should have learned from them in many ways. I live right in the part of the City where about 60,000 migrate to from the far north. They move in with family, collect unemployment enjoyment insurance and party hardy. NOT! They work doing stuff in our cold weather that we won't. Good people, loyal friends, and honorable. Always bad apples though that ruin it for the rest. Like one newshound said, "If it ain't bad, it ain't NEWS."
Whiteman wisdom? Know why whiteman clothed the indians? Could not stand half naked maidens running around in only loin cloth. Whiteman tempted!
