Well you fullas did good but now I has to go to work to offset my weekend folly of purchasing another car...I will not bother you with the details of what me warden said...but select hearing and it has been said that it easier to get forgiveness than permission....but there is a price tag to forgiveness....ha ha

Dito.... I have read on some '75 and '76 option lists, there was an "extended range" fuel tank. I had never seen one before in person but thats what I would think it would look like.....
When is a good time for the Coffee and Carolinas? What are Carolinas anyway? Its reward enuff to get a look at that old beauty.
Love the LTD, Luxury cars are great. Wish I had an example of each, in each body style, in each color, so I could drive a differnet one every day
Yes that would real good with a tank full of that in it.....Now to mention it I do not think I will try to take this car across the line with that tank in it... On a side note the car comes with two speeding tickets already made out... Rev we got to git together...with any luck we can hook up when come down in December for the holiday season....
Yup. That was Fords answer to the energy crisis. With the gas shortages and even rationing in the mid seventies, people worried about availability. The marketing dept also hyped up the fact that with the optional extended range fuel tank you could drive x number of miles between fill ups. Especially considering the fuel economy of some of these boats. Even back in the sixties when gas was cheap and plentiful, people used to complain about frequent filling ups. Cadillacs solution was to increase their gas tank size. LOL If you can't make them more fuel efficient, give em a bigger tank!
On fuel consumption I think the best vehicle I ever had was 1967 Ford with six cylinder and a half ton pickup with a three speed transmission....It was a plain jane truck but it sure was great on gas...Worst was new Chev I bought in seventy with the 307 motor and it was the loaded model...In seventy one I got rid of it and went with a Ford with the 302 three speed...It was just okay...Nothing has ever beat the 67 as it was good from day one.....I then wound up with a Ford again with a 360 motor...not good at all on fuel or performance...Next was a Ford 4x4 with a 351...It is fair on fuel for the work it had to do and still use it for snow plowing and it has over two hundred and forty thousand miles on it....I converted it over to LP gas years and years ago...My next main truck was a 91 Ford with a 460 with a five speed trans...I put it on LP fuel right at the start and it has over three hundred thousand kilometers on it and has been a great work truck...I still have it but the rust has made it into a yard truck but it still runs good...All original drive train including the clutch and u joints....U joints were changed in the front as used to launch the boat into the water with it and it got wet a lot...My truck now in a Ford F350 with 5.4....It is my retirement truck but not jist to sure bout it yet but have had it ten years so better soon make up my mind...Well my finger's are stretched out now so time to get a move on...
Beautiful 75 LTD Landau. Love the silver w/ red. Someone did a nice job with the order book. The great looking hood ornament and front turn lamp housings were one year only designs, never understood why...the rest went on unchanged thru 78. I would drive that LTD proudly.
When he's done with it, you can count on it. Some of his work: http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4318 I may be confused with all the cars he's mentioned, but I think it might become his wife's ride.
