Very high option for a Sprint, it has a 4-speed manual & A/C! Both very rare options on a sprint, as both were very $$$. It also has power steering, California emissions, Rally II wheels, and a factory hood tach. 66 & 67 were the only 2 years you could order A/C with the 4bbl engine in the Sprint package. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1967-pontiac-firebird-36/
Good luck cammerjeff, hope you get it. . You still have high bid as of 8:55 am Eastern time. Love my v8s but miss the feel of the straight 6s from back in the day.
I love these cars, it's amazing to see one with a 4 speed, AC, AND California emissions. This would be the perfect commuter car in nice weather. Good luck Jeff!
Thanks everyone, this is really a unicorn of a car. I have owned 2 Sprints with A/C, a 66 Lemans automatic, and a 67 Lemans 3-speed manual. These engine only perform well with a manual transmission (with the exeption of a very few 69 Firebirds with the optional 3-speed automatic, they got a TH350) all automatics were the 2-speed ST300's and they do not work well with a high reving engine. I hemmed and hawed but finally pulled the trigger and bid. It just doesn't feel right not having a Sprint in the fleet having owned at least 1 from 1975 to 2019. And what my user name is based on.
CincyLexusGuy tried to snipe your ass! Way to stay in there. Hopefully you aren't far off the reserve and the seller will entertain your offer. Continued good luck!
No update, I upped my offer to what I think is well over $5000.00 more than the car is worth, and the seller is considering it, but he thinks he can get more. I am not holding my breath for the phone call to tell me if he finally decides to take my offer or not. So I would still buy it at my offered price if he decides he can let it go for that amount.
