No, speculation is what made it cost that much. Worth is relative, but even that isn't worth that much. It is a gorgeous truck, but when this is done solely for money, that takes all the amazement out of the condition and miles.
My mom bought a 1980 Silverado 'Big Ten' demonstrator on the lot for over $12K back then, and an inflation calculator showed that in today's dollars, it would be some $60+K, so unless this had every option that could be put on one of those trucks, I'd say the guy flat overpaid.
When I sold Chevrolet’s in early 1980’s trucks did not legally require Monroney stickers. Options were listed, but no pricing. The dealer had the truck prices on 3x5 cards in the sales managers office. They usually had quite a nice “pack” on them 10-30% depending on trim level, and you got spiffs for whatever you could overcharge the customer off of the card. Kind of a gross system when you think about it. Fortunately that changed shortly thereafter.
That's something I can't remember--if Mom's Silverado had a window sticker or not. I only remember her telling me what the price was. What it did have was Argent and Charcoal grey colors, and gaudy triple-red stripes on the hood. Thankfully, Mom got the dealer to remove the buggers, but left the 'BIG 10' stickers in place.
