You don't still have yours do you? We were out gettin' groceries this morning, and I pointed out a nice 1984 Convertible Mustang to my SWMBO. I told her that the new dash in our Squire came from one like that, and that the cars have almost the same frame. She wondered if I could 'convert' our wagon, and get the frontend for it! :thumbs2::evilsmile:

Sure Honey, as long as I can change the motor to the 190 HP I4 and 5 speed stick!. Oh yeah she says! :biglaugh: NOW WHAT??? Too much fun. :biglaugh:

I've seen this clip before,it's a good one...Back when I had my marroon 77 Dodge Aspenwagon, this is the kind of Ford Fairmont wagon that would make friends and co-workers go,"Look!..Somebody's stealing your car!" I was never fooled.:disagree:

You mean all my "Get up and go" would be gone? They sure wind up nice. Put a couple Thrush mufflers and intimidate the ricers... :rofl2:

Somehow or other, I'm thinking it doesn't have the original drive train in it.

it was originaly an I6 car, then it had a 351w/T5 combo, then LS1/4L60E, and then LS1/powerglide

it was a friggin' heartbreaker for sure! LOL

it stood up so tall on this one, it skinned the fuel tank!

The suspension doesn't even bounce on the frontend. Lots of tweaking went into that machine.

it was really neat with the 4L60E... using LS1 Edit software, they had it set up to where you just put the thing in drive and go. even the nitrous setup... just arm it, and when it was triggered at WOT, they had it spraying in front of the MAF meter, and it would pull timing and increase the fueling accordingly. VERY slick

but once he ate through some 4L60 drums, it was far cheaper to put a glide in it vs. a full on build of the 4sp.

The car was SUPER light... still had bench seats, but the dash was just a shell, dynabat on the inside of the firewall, full cage, etc. The car weighed right at about 3000lbs w/ a full interior and the cage.

my wagon weighed about 2700lbs when I sold it. I will NOT be stripping my new one down like that! LOL

My '79 Squire weighed in at 2,745 lbs with the 302/auto. too. maybe lighter with the I6.
