LOVe that picture. Boy that black ‘55 Merc wagon looks very Plymouth/Chevrolet with that single fender strip. Don’t remember seeing one in real life with that little trim. I’d be very happy owning all nine of those cars for the rest of my life. Certainly a car for every occasion.
This is the way I’ve seen 99% of the Custom non woody wagons from Merc in ‘55 with the rear fender splash.
The photo above was taken in Columbus, OH. and the Buick's on the transport truck were most likely headed to Len Immke Buick, Columbus' only downtown Buick dealer for many years. Schiff Shoes later became SCOA (Shoe Corporation of America). Robert Schiff's grandson, Scott Schiff, chases ambul...er, practices law in Columbus.
Hey it could be worse. His grandson could be Adam Schiff. That Yellow Buick Convertible looks like such a Ray of sunshine on an otherwise dreary day.
The building housing Shiff Shoes is now torn down. The large beautiful building is at the corner of S 3rd St and W State St in Columbus and stands today.
