    Hi All,
Just bought a 70 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser and thought this would be a good forum to join and talk about wagons. I am mostly Oldsmobile 442 but a vista is not far from that. I have done several frame off restos on 442's and am not sure if I am going to do a frame off on this one. It is from sacremento ca. and is suppose to be rust free for the most part (it is in transit to my home in western ny). Look forward to reading and participating on the forums. Steve

Good luck and welcome aboard. Hey, might we see a '70 442 wagon in the offing?!! It would surely be a one of a kind!
Post some pics of the Vista. Am anxious to check it out.

Love those 'leap of faith' stories. Getting a car from a local used car salesman is one thing, but from across the country, that's something else! Look forward to your progress pics and tales of agony and extasy. :Welcome:

Hi 70 Vista, welcome. You guys just made me think of a idea for the new project! How about a 93 Escort wagon and put the GT front clip on it, and of course the 1.8 dual cam 4? Just thinking out loud.

That's the one, we had the 115hp version in our GT. It was a little screamer. Man I miss that car. The 442 wagon thought reminded me of years back when I thought of doing that after seeing a escort wagon with a wrecked front clip while I was driving the escort. We still had 4 boys at home at the time so it sounded like a good idea.

Thnaks for the welcome!! I don't plan on making a 442 wagon but will be adding a w-25 ram air hood set up. This will be a nice driver with a mild mannered 455. I don't remember the last time I saw a vista cruiser live and think it will make a nice cruise night/car show car. Steve

I am trying a reproduction hood from the parts place. I have it ordered and want to trial fit it before taking the car apart once it gets here. I have heard good and bad about them and will let everyone knoe how it is.

This is the steel framed hood (not all fiberglass) more like the original. Steve
