Contrary to what you may read on the interwebs, these were not made on a production line. Yes, Olds Engineering did hand build a couple but they were not available to the general public. The blue one in that article (which is a 1971, by the way, not a 1970) even has the valve covers on backwards (the notches are for clearance to the power brake booster and HVAC box, and were installed towards the back). There are two documented cars built. The first is a 1968 Vista with a complete 1968 Hurst/Olds drivetrain and suspension installed. This car was featured in Car and Driver magazine in the July 1968 issue. You can read that article here. The second was a 1970 Cutlass flattop wagon with a W-30 motor and hood. That car was also featured in magazine tests in 1970.

A fellow in my high school class built his own "phantom" W30 Vista Cruiser wagon in the early seventies. There were lots of very fast cars in town and his sleeper wagon was one of them. He towed a dedicated drag car with it.
