I had forgotten the rear quarter windows still retracted in 1976 on the 2-door. https://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/cto/d/1976-oldsmobile-delta-88/6706402116.html
That's pretty, and for a very good price. Not terribly high optioned with only A/C, cruise control, and tilt wheel. The build sheet, which is a cool thing to have, says only "deluxe" radio. It's hard to tell in the one photo of the dash if the radio is AM-only or includes FM. He sort of damns the car with faint praise. I'm guessing it runs well, and most people would describe it that way with a phrase like "runs well," or "fresh tune-up" or whatever. He simply says it's "operable" and that "the mechanics are presentable and serviceable." OK. Don't bowl us over with your enthusiasm. While he gives us a close-up of the tread on one tire and a shot of one underhood sticker, he provides no photos of the engine itself.
I'd place my bet on strictly AM. If the sticker just lists the option as "deluxe", that sounds like the typical euphamism for having a radio at all, from back then. The only way to determine it exactly would be to trace option code U63. I'm sure, Joe Padavano has a list on his website somewhere. He does indeed list drivetrain options
U63 was merely an AM radio. It was "deluxe" in name only and the push button feature. If it was an FM or stereo, it called it out in the build sheet description usually. It's a nice example but it is kind of low on the options other than AC and cruise and tilt.
Then there is this. The Crown Landau was a pricey option - cost more than AC. https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/ram/cto/d/1976-olds-delta-88-royale/6693739845.html
Wow! That Crown is super sharp. I've only ever seen a handful of those, and that was back in the day.....
Very nice looking Example of a very rare car, great shape considering its a rust belt car! Looks like the spilled some gasoline in the trunk at some point in the past, that is the only way I have ever managed to take off the splatter paint like this. My only per peeve is the seller listing it as a 1 owner car, when he is the second owner ( my opinion by the wording of the ad) if you are not buying it from the original owner, or the estate it is not a 1 owner car.
