The wife was getting her car serviced at Toyota and was griping about it nickel and diming her to death. He sent her up to one of the salesmen and got sucked in. He showed her this car and she fell in love with it, so we ended up buying it Friday evening. I drove it home, but she had to work at the hospital on Sat and Sun, so I really haven't had a chance to acquaint myself with it. I guess it's the nearest thing to a wagon that Toyota sells other than SUV's.
That is a re-named Toyota Matrix. We bought a Pontiac Vibe (same car, different badges as the Matrix) and it has been the best car we've ever owned. 137,000 miles and still has original clutch. Just put brakes on it this year. It's been a great car and we plan on keeping it forever. You will like this one.
No, it's not. It's a renamed Scion and the IM stands for Individuality Modern. It's one of the 2 Scion models that were rebadged as Toyotas.
OK, whatever. Deep down inside it is a different body on a Corolla chassis, which is exactly what the Matrix's were (as well as Vibe's).
On February 3, 2016, Toyota announced that it would discontinue the Scion brand in August 2016, with selected models to be re-branded as Toyota vehicles for the 2017 model year. Scion FR-S MY 2013–2016 (Rebranded as Toyota 86 for the 2017 model year.) Scion iA MY 2016 (Rebranded as Toyota Yaris iA for the 2017 model year in United States; already marketed as Yaris sedan in Canada for MY 2016. Scion iM MY 2016 (Rebranded as Toyota Corolla iM for the 2017 model year.)
All of these abbreviated designations, along with abstract styling seem to be motivated for confusing consumers. Over here, Toyotas are just named designated models, such as Prius, Aygo and Yaris
