I’m Jake from Oklahoma, and bought my first wagon (vehicle) this last October. It’s a 1971 Pontiac Safari. Me and my dad worked on it, and got it to where it doesn’t look like a rollin’ rust bucket, but I’m not quite satisfied with it yet. Nonetheless, I’m glad to have joined, and to see all of these big beauties. ........... ............. ............ ............ ........... ...........
Is that it in your profile pic? That thing looks sweet! Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you got a good helper but if you have any questions about your car or life in general you’re in the right place. Is the wagon your daily driver? What do your friends think about it?
Welcome aboard Jake. Sounds like you have a neat car there. I second the motion! Photos are always appreciated.
Thank you, and yep-that is her. The wagon’s road ready, but I don’t have a license (yet). I know a little to old not to have gotten one, but I should within the month. I’ve gotten pretty positive reviews of the ol’ gal, invited to bring it to car shows in town, and whatnot.
Also, thank you to everyone that has welcomed me, I might post some pictures it, (interior, before, etc) at the moment however, she looks like she’s in rough shape, since I’m taking her back apart. Been working in Iowa and Texas with my dad trying to get some money to get her back to like new-all at once. As far as beer goes, I think me buying it is a couple years off, but it doesn’t mean me and dad can’t enjoy one every once in a while.
Welcome Jake....Good to see you here on the forum! We've got quite a few 'clamshell' owners here, who can help you out. Just find the sections relating to the area you are having trouble with, and start a thread, or you can do a search for other threads with the same issue. Marshall
That's a awesome rare wagon you got there! And cool to see someone at your age to have an interest in a vintage wagon.
