I was not aware of that Model, but I never cared for so I did not ever pay attention to many of the 1980's Domestic FWD products. I wonder what it drives like? If there is really and "performance" in the engine or suspension?
That's all explained, in the article. They stiffened it up. But, didn't do it scientifically, using any non-traditional patents. The engine's only throttle-body fuel injected which is, in any event, better than carburetion, from a performance standpoint. A modern long induction coil type intake manifold with individual injectors would have made the vehicle move out of it's way better. All of that is a task for the new owner, though. Taking a close look at the upholstery, I'm not yet convinced that it's genuine leather. Personally, I like that overall organized crime style. The white letter tires are sort of awkward, though. Low-profile redwalls or pinstripe whites would have harmonized better
In related news today, this charming 1985 Cadillac Eldorado today went through the auto auction I attend on Mondays - for the third time. Got a high bid of $250 this time. Still didn't meet the reserve on it.....??????? By the way - this is the GOOD side.
Yeah, if you wanna ditch the 4100, pick up a later 4900, with the PFI, as well as the complete EFI harness and fuel delivery system and tank. Then, you could come up with a FWD Eldo that could move out of its own way without blowing the head gaskets or liner o-rings.
For that, the price would have to be right, not forgetting restoring the seats with genuine leather. As it is now, it's barely worth even half of what he's asking
I really like the looks of this Eldorado, same with the Riviera and Toronado of the same era. With the exception of the 350/368 V8s offered in 1979/80, none of the factory power plants were adequate for these elegant cars. The exception was the turbo V6 for the Riviera T Type. I test drove a 1985 model and it was great driving machine, at least by the standards of the time. Of course, I understand the turbo V6s had their own issues.

He probably doesen't know the difference. He had an Olds 350 dropped in. So, at least the engine issues should be resolved, depending on how the Olds engine was taken care of
I always liked the body style but the engines especially the ht4100 were terrible the tranny’s were no treat either . I remember the Diesel engines that were total junk people would pull those and put the olds engine in as they bolted up. Sad years for Cadillac
