    Buy it from surplus auction and flip it, adding a "1" in front of the price you just paid. I wonder if he reports this as income on his tax return??

    Since it has gauges, AC, and a gas engine, I doubt it was originally a military truck. It appears to have been a conversion from new.

    Weather it was a military truck or not, I don't know, but it was green.

    If the sunlight hadn't washed out the GM sticker, it would give the codes that denote whether it was built under Army contract or not.

    Honestly I don't know what you would even do with this thing. Pretend you are a fire fighter? Contract yourself out to the local fire department? I'm not seeing the value in this at $15500 or $5500.

    If you own a sizeable tract of land and fire is something that happens every once in a while, I could see that. But otherwise, a fire agency should buy it as a quick response truck.

    Around here there is actually a market for trucks like this. There are farmers and land owners that use them as well as private contract brush fire fighters. Even though this is an older truck it's likely that it was very well maintained and has low miles like most fire trucks do at the end of their service life.

    I tried to look at the new ad with the new price, but it was flagged for removal.

    You would think so, around the Upper Peninsula. But then, even in the height of Summer, it doesn't dry out, does it?

    The snow barely has time to melt before it starts snowing again up there. Plus I don't see a Yooper investing the money in a dedicated piece of machinery like this. It would be more like a rusted out Cavalier that they cut the body off of and installed a couple of IBC's on the back for water tanks with a snowblower engine running a pump.

    Wow. That's the first time I've heard the term "Yooper," and the description of what they would use makes them sound backward and isolated.
