Car looks to be in great condition, but me and Carb'd Buick Turbo's don't get along well.

I'm told that the FI 1984 or 85 are the best to have, but the originality of this one is impressive. And that sure looks like original paint and factory tape stripes.

I wonder if the reason for the low miles was the same as my 79 Century T-Type, it ran so poorly no one liked to drive it. But I would hope by 83 they had solved most of the issues.
Mine was finally almost cured by changing the intake manifold the original one had a porous lower surface had several small holes letting the boost pressure into the crank case. causing it to push oil thru the PCV valve into the intake under low boost conditions it almost ran OK, but anything with over 2lbs of boost it would blow blue smoke & start to leak out of every gasket surface.
It drove me crazy, all 6 cylinders had good compression, the valve seals and guides were good, I finally pulled the intake to change the gaskets & clean the oil out of it. I found the holes by chance, I cleaned outer surfaces 1st, then when spraying carb cleaner into the runners oil would keep appearing in the same couple of spots on the lower surface.
After replacing it ran better than it had ever run, but all the engine gaskets needed to be replaced as they had been damaged by all the pressure in the crank case.
I sold it with less than 25,000 miles on it, it was 8 years old. Looked great and finally ran OK if you didn't mind adding a qt of oil every time you filled it up with gas.

The EFI Buicks are a different story all together and run very well they are the 85-87 models.

It's almost like the late Eighties were a watershed time for GM to improve their metallurgy and casting. After that, except in cases of supreme neglect by an owner, the metals actually held up to normal use, and didn't have such problems as porous castings.

Oy. A few people have asked me to look at cars at this place. With little exception most of them appeared to be worked over and over priced. This Buick looks nice at least.

At least it has lever AC as the auto AC could be a problem. Headliner needs replaced desperately as does the power antenna (it's bent). I agree, way overpriced. Do the headliner, do the antenna and give it a complete detail, you may be at $8000.

Underbody doesn't look that awesome for the low mileage. Overspray in a couple of places as well. Should also be listed as 180hp not 225hp as the seller claims.
