Looks highly impressive. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1976-Ponti...ES-/362310357193?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368
We recently had another vehicle filmed at exactly this location, not that long ago. I wonder why others can't learn from example, when it's time for them to sell their stuff
Great looking example the Silver? Landau roof and Silver pin stripe look just a bit odd to me, but I am sure it is stock, Loaded with a few to many options for my taste, never been a fan a T-Tops, but the rest of the car looks great. I wonder what the reserve is? These are not fast cars even with the 200hp 455. The ad is somewhat misleading as there never was a LJ/SJ option combination, this is a top of the Line LJ model with the optional 455 4bbl engine. While this same engine was the standard engine in the SJ model, it was also the same 455 engine available in T/A's, Lemans, Grand Prix, Catalina, Bonneville, & Safari Models. They only made one 455 engine in 1976 I don't think there were even any exhaust manifold differences. These cars are handicapped by the standard highway gearing, usually in the 2.42 to 2.78 range. The optional 3.23 really wakes them up, but with the high rear gear ratio & the 4500lbs weight this loaded car will approach, the low compression 455 will struggle to get them up to speed, granted better than a 350 2bbl standard on the base model GP of the year, but still slow compared to a modern car. I couldn't pay the price this seller would want as I would have to swap on Higher compression heads, dual exhaust, & a lower rear gear ratio to drive it. I owned quite a few 76-77 GP's and they a great highway cruisers, and can be made to handle using T/A suspension parts and quick ratio steering boxes. But again this is a great looking example and I wish the seller well in finding it a new home.
The reserve's way too high then. If I were auctioning the car, I'd be glad to get that much, and be thankful for it.
Since when are bidder's identities "protected"? I haven't seen that one before. According to bid history, the first bid started out unsensibly high and reserve is now met. If this isn't a scam, what is?: https://www.ebay.com/bfl/viewbids/3...70&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2565&showauto=true
