I read a recent article in Hemming's "Classic Cars" about sedans and station wagons. The article spoke about what we've all seen....you go to a car show and see nothing but coupe's and convertibles. "Where are all of the sedans and wagons?" Sure enough, all of our parents had either a sedan or a wagon, or both. They were everywhere growing up. Unlike collectors who "invest" in their cars, I like to drive them, and drive the kind of cars I grew up with (a standard sentiment heard thoughout the hobby). Coupes and convertibles were luxuries a lot of folks couldn't afford. I guess the lower production numbers make them more valuable. It was an article that was a long time coming. I get more applause from the crowds at the annual Saint Patrick's Day Parade when I drive my '89 Crown Victoria Station Wagon than when I drive the old Buick Convertible! Everyone can relate to it, and they are seemingly all gone today. As a note, I do love my convertible but I drive a 4-door sedan or my station wagon daily.
