I sold my 1973 Cuda for $1,500 back in 86 and it was a running, driving 360/ Pistol Grip 4 speed car. The white interior was in decent shape and the paint and body looked good, but had a bit of Bondo. A Challenger with a blown or missing drivetrain could probably have been bought for $300-500 back then and not have the perceived value they have now. Before I bought the Cuda, I almost bought a 69 Camaro SS for $500 that had no engine or transmission, but I was 17 and my mom said, "hell no."

I agree with what Eagle Freek said.
    A different time and place.
Of course, it could also have been a more recent build. One of those "too much beer and access to a cutting torch and welder" type of scenarios.
