I bought the GS in 1996 in Pensylvania, and the wagon last January in France.

Good lord, you bought that wagon in france??? I remember when my cousins (from france) would visit me over the summers, they were astounded at the size of my mom's 1978 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser.

Just for kicks, what does it cost in Euros to fill the tank on that big beast?

At French gas prices, that burnout probably cost you $15. Party on!

it's about twice the size of a regular car here...
it's a diesel, so price here is cheaper ($5 per gallon instead of $6.4...) , and since I have the optional 22 gallon tank............. so looking at $110... but last year the gas price was something like $8.5 per gallon...

Diesel??? As in the old 350ci engine that GM cobbled into a diesel? The infamously horrible diesel?

My apologies for bagging on your engine, but I used to have one of those. It was my first car (the aforementioned Olds). The engine was fun until it blew up on the highway with only 85k on the clock. We took it to the dealer, and thet refused to do anything to that engine except yank it our and drop a gasser in its place.

If you have that engine, save it. That may be the last of an extinct breed.
