we just added another daily driving station wagon to our household. my wife's job relocated to a place that has too low clearance in the garage to fit in her van. since she kind of was done with anyway and was driving my station wagon during my absences we checked for another station wagon for her. first we came across a 1999 BMW but the person who was going to sell it never got back to us about an appointment to check on the wagon. finally we found a Custom Cruiser on Craig's List Detroit and made an appointment for the next day. now the 1982 CC is my wife's and she feels way better with it than she ever felt with the van. it actually came without fender extensions (see my latest post) but a trip to a pick'n pull junkyard solved that issue at least for the front. so here's hers and his cheers Kiz
Sounds like a win win situation. I know we miss our vans but there are places they won't fit and this gave you an excuse to get another wagon. :2_thumbs_up_-_anima
Cool, and congrats ...... now we just have to find you a third one, because you never know when you mite need a part
yep, we're happy now but it's time for me to head back to the old world to earn my part of the donuts. so getting the cars in a better shape (since they got their flaws here and there) got procrastinated for another 2 month again
well i asked here and i've been told that what i'm looking for are Bumper Fillers. so i looked them up on the www and one store offered some and the set included Fender Extensions also. i'll post some pics of what i'm talking about tomorrow to prevent further confusion. it's a bit too dark now and i dislike using the flash
thx now for some clarification : here's what i assume are Fender Extensions (at least to my humble understanding of English language ) which are missing in the back also in the back the Bumper Filler is missing (the sheet metal part and the rubbery plastic part ) i searched the shop manual for a proper term but i couldn't find any. so if i'm totally wrong i'm more than willing to learn to avoid future confusion @ Tedy: that mos def will be the case (getting a 3rd for parts) the doors of the 87 CC suffer from rust pretty bad and need an overhaul or replacement soon. since most of my tools are across the ocean for now i'm restocking on tools while being here as good as i can. i do have a plan on patching the doors with sheet metal but need to improve my welding skills before i take on on that project. and the colder and wetter it gets space in the bay / garage will become an issue also cheers Kiz
Yeah, those are bumper fillers. Very common among the box wagons to have them broken or missing. My front ones are perfect, my rear ones broken.... Now, for the solution....... I found a company that makes some, so I bought a set. The only problem - they're made of Fiberglas, not the correct urethane. some suppliers have them in ABS as well.

BTW,,,thanks again for digging up a DEAD years old thread that.... what is the point? Or was the answer "D" the reason?
