My Big love, D. Monaco-72 has finally reach Swedish ground. I towed it home Friday 14 of July. After cleaning and servicing the wagon and going on holiday with my family there was no power hanging over my pc. I`m so overwhelm by the shape of the wagon, the body have some blisters and a soft bend at left rear door. There is no need for repaint. After cleaning the inside with vinyl spray I`m so happy to see 45 year old car look almost like new. Today I´m working the speedometer to kpm. This is not a relaxing work lying under the steering wheel whit a belly like baseball... That`s all folks. by the way the 400" V8 is spinning so fine. Kim Johansson.
Johansson wow, totally lost track of the saga to get your car back home, sorry congrats - do you feel like a 5 yea old with a new bike? the other day was getting gas for the wagon, had to pay in side - came out a 2 guys were peering into my wagon, they asked if the could see it - there were hooting and laughing on how they grew up in these cars. I can't even imagine the reaction you get over there - alien spaceship perhaps? any way congrats and keep the posting coming enjoy the ride
WOW! That is one beautiful station wagon! There's a thread over in the 'Auctions, Craig's List' etc. section about another one of these Dodges, but it's an ugly green, and the Di-Noc wood grain transfers have been painted over. Yours looks about 1,000% better.... http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/threads/1973-dodge-monaco.45188/
Hi janty75! Well, the Monaco was shipped from LA the 10 of may to Sweden the 28 of June. = 7 weeks. There was two problems on the way. No:1 The ship was ordered to sail to a harbor in Sweden (Gothenburg) but there was a Big strike and lockout at the same time... (it vent to Malmö harbor). Nr:2 I didn`t take notice enough about getting a serious Bill Of Sale. The first one wasn`t approved by the Swed. registration dep. But that`s now history. last day I got the OK letter the Wagon is clear for a normal Inspection! Your friend Kim! (I jumped for joy)
Howdy! Yes You said it! What a good injection, It feels like handling a battle ship...I already wanted me a reversing camera for fathers day. Thank`s for the notice! Kim. -Yes there`s been people watching. but I think 4 weeks still before I have my reg.plates on.
Ha, I was just thinking about a backup camera for my Ranchero, Babe, now that she has a topper, I really need it!
Hello Krash! Thank you for encourage me to my first import from the US, Tonight I had the speedometer out, so I can place decal figurers over the MPH-sheet. After this I must put 3-point belts in front and rear seats (not in the middle)- The manual bibles are complete but written to mechanics that already worked with Dodge for 3 years. I think I by me a parts-list or a personal handyman. I have not brought my Monaco SF because I want to sell it. It was 5 years wanting 3 years planning. I choosed between 20 wagons manny from 1962- my year. My Best Regards. Kim.
