That pic of my Vista below that other one scared me.:rofl2:

My car wasn't much better than that wagon, If that one had no roof rust, that quarter wasn't smashed and it was a 455 three seater...hmmm.:)
If it was a factory 4 speed 455 w/dual exhaust I would go for it anyway.:)
There is a guy that knows where NOS quarters for them are but wanted major cash for the info last time I heard, his father sold my car to me and out from under him so we have issues.:yup:

My first house was way worse than that car, 1832 model, like new when I sold it. It went from a 20 thousand dollar house to a 185 thousand dollar house and I couldn't afford the taxes.
I have this thing about bringing things back from the ashes, got to do something about that.:bouncy:

Thanks for the pics. I could easily spend all day in that junkyard. What a difference between the southwest and the northeast. They'd all be rusted hulks with every window smashed in if they were in this area.

    Me Too!

Yes Rev I was thinking to myself while looking at this Junkyard, what a great place but how sad it was that none of these cars would see the road again. There was a lot of cars there that needed to be saved!!

You never know what you'll find at a junkyard. Several years ago while in California, my buddies and I went "shopping" for Mopar parts at several yards in California. At one of the yards there was this 63 Colony Park wagon. I think the plan was to sell it complete. But I know that if it didn't sell, that they probably parted it out. It was at a yard in Ridgecrest, California, either Countyline or Speedway was the yard's name. But this was maybe 7 years ago. The car was straight and solid except for what looked like damage from hitting a sign post. And yes, that is a 55 or 56 Chrysler wagon next to it. Also visible in the background are a Willys wagon,a 67 Barracuda fastback, a 71 Boat tail Riviera and a 66 Imperial.
I would have loved to bring this one home to the east coast. I wonder what ever happened to it.

That CP was in way too good shape to be in a junkyard. I hope somebody grabbed it before they parted it out.

    I couldn't have helped myself

That Colony Park was awesome. If I saw it now it would have to live next to it's Squire twin! Way too nice to part out. Our 05 Passat wagon could go on the street.

My 02 Passatt wagon is on the street now. It probably deserves to be in the salvage yard more than that Colony Park does.

It's a "kid in a candy shop" experience to be a car guy in an old junkyard. Too bad many are closing, crushing, or won't let you walk the grounds and gawk.
My buddy in high school had a mid 70s wagon that had lost it's top. Quite the ride. Had a toilet mounted in the back... :0

I spent many days wandering the old type junk yards.................... dreaming and getting parts to keep my old cars going. In fact, that's how many of us kept our regular drivers going. A junk yard generator was a few dollars compared to a new one at the dealership or parts store.
Some of those junk yard cars were driven in there and parked. There were better looking cars in junk yards than on E-Bay now.
Some parked so long that trees were growing out of them and critters lived inside them. My wife and I would go on a camping vacation and spend days walking junk yards. Not many wives like pulling rusty greasy parts off cars sitting in mud or poison ivy with snakes and junk yard dogs. I trained my wife well and she loved junk yard adventures too!
