    Hi there!

I have a double filter relocation kit in my '75 Grand Safari.
I use Ford filters as recommended in the manual, but it's still leaking a bit. As you can see on the pic, it's not that much but still messy after driving for a while.
As it seems the screws (green/red arrows) are causing the problem, i tightened them carefully a bit but no change there.
So...why is that and what can i do against it?

    Greetings from Germany.

Were those fittings and plugs installed with thread sealant? Coarse threads typically seep, so putting Teflon thread tape or liquid Teflon sealant helps immensely with seepage. Just make sure that everything is clean and oil-free if you use the liquid sealant.

I've no idea, it was installed by the previous owner.
I'll unscrew both ends and have a look at the type of screws to find a proper sealing-method.

    Problem solved.
I bought two new double nippels (is that really the right english word?) and some Teflon-tape, one of the nipples was a wrong one and that caused the leak.

Those are pipe thread fittings. They are supposed to be a high pressure leak proof thread but in aluminum or pot metal they tend to leak. They are also only leak proof for one use after that they don't hold fluid as good. They should always have a sealer of some sort on them. Glad you have the problem solved.
