I never got the spandex outfits. since when do you have to wear matching apparel to ride yer bike?!?! I go run the kids on the basketball court every once and a while and a lot of the times I'm wearing jeans and work boots. Never once have I thought I should be wearing the big #23 jersey hanging in the closet. The Mexicans down the street play pick up soccer and not a one is wearing a jersey. Why, oh why must you put on your uniform to ride your wimpy bike! And while I'm at it,! Why can't you ride on the side walk off the street?? Is it because on the the side walk there are people slowing you down by choosing a lesser form of transportation? I quit riding bicycles with baseball cards on the spokes once I figured out how to put A motor on two wheels. And one more thing... Lance Armstrong was a cheater!!!
Bikes don't belong on sidewalks. I stopped riding bikes when the seats got skinnier than my butt. As for spandex it looks great on certain female body types, mostly way under 195#.
And both vehicle drivers and bicyclists can be royal douche nozzles to each other, but both have something to remember: Bicyclists don't pay road taxes or licensing; cars can crush a human like a bug or bounce them.
True where I am they have bicycle lanes. Do the bicyclist use them? No they ride in the middle of the road and wonder why they are treated badly here. Now if they are having a meet then it's not a problem. It is the single riders that do a lot of this and ride on the sidewalk usually college students and older adults.
