Does anyone know of any wood grain vinyl suppliers in the U.S. or Canada. I have a low millage original 1974 Chevrolet Caprice Estate wagon and even though the vinyl still looks good for the age i am still thinking of replacing all of it with new vinyl. Is the exact vinyl being reproduced for my year of Chevrolet. I am in the area of southern Ontario in Canada. Thanks for any help or leads. Cheers. George
The person I would talk to, if wanted to find original factory-correct woodgrain (or close to it...) is Mick Hoglund from 'Woodgrain 4 Wagons'. He's in Lakewood, CA. (near Long Beach). He's done a few himself..... http://www.woodgrain4wagons.com/home
I was thinking about going to a sign shop to repair the vinyl on my back door. I have spoken to one shop and they felt they could recreate a likeness to match the faded color of the other doors. I don't know if it will work but it sounds encouraging. When the time comes I plan to check it out further.
You might try contacting BlueVista. He restored an early 70's Cutlass Cruiser several years ago and had the woodgrain redone. I believe he had someone apply it for him, but I don't know where he got it from. http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/threads/vista-cruiser-woodgrain-vinyl.9610/
