Hello all, I just signed on here. I have just aquired a 1965 Ford Country Sedan wagon from an auto recyclers in Northern Idaho, it took a few years to get it! The problem was I needed a title to export it to Alberta Canada where I live but it did not have one. In November the last registered owner was finally tracked down and to make a long story short I finally got it titled. This car was too nice to be parted out and I was glad to rescue it before any big pieces went missing. Aside for the patina on the outside this wagon has no rust what so ever and the underside and frame are like new! It is a factory Z code 390 car with factory a/c but the engine and trans were sold years ago. When my great outdoors shop warms up in a few months I will be installing a low mileage 390 powertrain here. I am also in the process of buying all the bits and pieces which were sold off of the car over the years.
Quite a project, but she's going to be beautiful when done. Congratulations, and welcome to the forum! Marshall
LOVE IT! How exciting. You must be in love to wait so long to get it home. We lived in Alberta, Calgary, for a short time. Loved the mountains but missed the ocean so we came back home. Anyway back to you. Keep us posted with the resto, hope you enjoy the forums. A few of us hang out in the lounge where your welcome to help yourself to the beverages in the fridge. Glad you found us. aboard.
God bless you for saving a piece of America! That thing is noice!!! You'll fit in here. I only been here a week but ya know what?? No one has offered me anything from the fridge so you already have seniority on me.
Holy Moly man PLEASE help yourself to the fridge annnnd anything left on the table is up for grabs. We had a member here who once made a comment about new members not introducing themselves and instead went right to the serious stuff like asking about help with their cars or selling it etc. He referred to it as coming into our garage, helping themselves to the beer without at least saying hello. It stuck so every now and then, when we thing of it we offer newbys a beverage. Sorry you were missing.
It's all right!!! I snuck a few anyway. Glad I don't have to hide and drink em in the bathroom anymore! Thanks for the gesture!
Welcome aboard 65fordwagon. That looks like a great car. I love the mid 60's full-size FORDs It does look very solid and complete. What are you plans beyond installing the new powertrain and getting it roadworthy?
Welcome, I have some pieces left over from my 66 7 Litre restoration, ( I was grabbing parts off of every 65 & 66 I came across) let me know if you're interested and we'll see what we can come up with possibly even though no guarantees some sedan windshield trim.
Welcome aboard! Looks like a good solid body to start with. You could either spend the time searching for the missing parts and pieces, or spend countless hours repairing rust...I'd rather be out chasing down parts. Good luck with your build.
