They did expand. I suppose it's time for new boots?

Lately (Yesterday) I cleaned off the hood and windshield of dust. Even with microfiber towels and Meguiar's Quick Detailer I still put miniature scratches in the clearcoat though. Gotta find some other way of doing this, that "Safeway" glass cleaner isn't streakless in my case either but the M.F towel was wet with it. Maybe that's what I get for buying a $3 can of glass cleaner instead of something better. The car rode fine and I tested to see if the rear brakes were dragging by putting it in drive on a level surface then releasing the brake; it didn't hold the car in the same place. I'm glad that's fixed.

I also thought if I need new tires I'd go up a size from 215/70r15s to 215/75r15s so the engine doesn't work so hard; the Dean Alpha 365s I have on it now were on it at purchase and now they're starting to look a little dryrotted plus I wonder if they're a little on the small diameter side because the speedometer's off. (Actual on GPS: 55, Speedometer: 59/60) As for new tires the Michelin Defender LTX sounded good (27.6 in diameter, LRR tires too) though they're not whitewalls, they had white lettering though.

Tirerack Page for these Michelin Defender LTX tires:

And if my '99 Suburban counts I've been spraying the whole thing where it counts with Fluid Film. Hopefully this prevents a lot of rust.

Yeah, those Deans need to go. Fair Les Schwab tire in their day, but they had a tendency to go a lot sooner than bigger-brand tires. I'd rather have budget Sears tires. But before you change tire size, remember that tread wear and inflation pressure affect actual speedo readings.

Thanks. I'm aware, I've been running the Caprice on 225/70R15s which make the speedometer run lower than the car's going. (Reads: 55, going: 59/60 - the reverse of the wagon, funnily) Still, it's what I'm going for in order to reduce RPMs with thought of adjusting the speedometer as I go though I'm not sure how to do that yet.

Thanks, your F150 looks amazing. I've taken the plugs out of the body on the sides to spray in there with the hoses too. I'm pleasantly surprised those plugs exist on this vehicle.

Yeah, I always liked those Rallyes for the full-size cars and the small-cap ones for the intermediates.

Haha, that is cool! I'm loving the cowl induction hood (I found the pics you've posted up) and does it still have that wild pistol-grip shifter I saw?

Started thinning the herd. Sold the Roadmaster this week and may also part with the Cougar and Edsel wagons.

Well the Chevillac had a couple small little blisters so I took it in to get repaired. They decided to cut the lower lip off and replace it . They hand made a new extension panel that's a perfect fit. They undercoated the new piece, sandblasted, sealed and put rust inhibitor on the understructure and are about to weld in the new piece. I should have it back Saturday.

Anyone interested in buying the patch panel piece. This is the left rear quarter behind the tire on Chevy wagons It will come as bare metal and it won't have the marker light hole in it since not all wagons have that. I'm thinking $40 for the panel . IMG_0102.PNG IMG_0104.PNG IMG_0103.PNG
