Hi All, it's been a while...thought you would appreciate a few photos of my Merc. The first ones are what she looked like on Sunday, the last few are today, Wednesday...tear down almost complete and ready to send her to the painter tomorrow morning at 6am. There is also a pic of the corrugated iron sign my daughters had made of the merc and colour match painted the same colour.

    Cool!

So Dennis, are we going with the (original?) pink, or trying something new?

You have a very desirable wagon. We all wish you well and expect pics of the restoration.

Thanks for the interest guys , a little update all the chrome bits dropped off today , powder and zinc coated stuff will be dropped off , along with 312/auto/diff for a full rebuild even though they have been working fine for the last 7664 miles in Aussie but the 55year old + gaskets have had their day . Other things power steer , discs , duel master and buster , 7&8 inch rims running original hubcaps , 235x14 radials with white walls , all new rubbers and weather stripping , rear venetian blinds custom made to suit the long and short curved rear side windows , sun visor for front windscreen custom made plus other stuff as we go along . from Downunder

Cheers indeed, Dennis! Can't wait for the finished product. Reminds me of the work I did for a customer on his '55 Pontiac Star Chief Custom Catalina. Engine, trans, steering, brakes, suspension, carb and distributor, radio receiver and amplifier/speaker, steering column and steering wheel, radiator, fuel tank, electrical repairs galore, but I never got to drive it.:disagree::huh::16suspect:

The '63 Meteor 2-door, however, I did get to drive, and it was very nice!
