It is beautiful, loaded and certainly very rare, but $55k? http://www.ebay.com/itm/1971-Plymouth-Fury-Sport-Fury-GT-/222028198347?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368
They are cool cars and with only about 600 built they are rare. The only ones worth that kind of money are the GT's that came from the factory with the six pack option. There were 64 made for the 1970 model year and the option was dropped for the Sport Fury GT for 71. But I have heard that a few 71's were made with the six pack (possibly as many as 6) If this were a 440 six pack 70 or 71 Sport Fury GT, it would be worth that and more. As a 4 bbl car, not so much.
I bet that thing is as long as my wagon! I have to admit it is pretty awesome, but I think the seller may be hanging onto it for a while with that asking price.
Why dye the white vinyl roof black? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Plymouth-Fu...abf1c6c6:g:cWkAAOSw~gRVkIpK&item=131733767878
This is hiding in a local garage. Not real might be a car put together by a dealer . A 70 300 vert with all the Hurst trim on it. Still talking with the seller maybe some day we can come to a price on it.
Remember that $5100 in 1971 was around $50,000 in todays money. That was a very expensive car in 71. I think you could get a very nice Caddy for that kind of money.
I've seen about the rarest one ever. Showed up at a car show with all the documentation. The guy's father special ordered it and someone at Chrysler had some sort of mental breakdown. It ended up being lime green first of all, and not the forest green that had been ordered. When he took it to the dealer for its first service, they wouldn't let him have it back. Turns out it had been built with all the Fury Police Interceptor hardware that Chrysler wasn't legally allowed to sell to the general public. He had to threaten a lawsuit to keep the car but Chrysler finally relented.
