Best left forgotten. Sorry - no offense - but to me the 1980 Cougar/Thunderbird was one fugly design.

I had an '80, 302/AOD, fully loaded, totally screwed up by farking around one night and kissed a telephone pole. $500 when I bought it and it only needed a battery cable. I still kick myself for acting so stupidly. I really liked it for the comfort and the fact it was a modified Fox chassis.

The boxy 'Birds and Cougars were absolutely the ugliest cars Ford produced...EVER! A '58 Edsel is downright handsome, by comparison.

I think the next-generation Mercury Cougars could give that 'Ugliest Ford' claim a run for the money.......

Yup the 80-82 Boogers and Turd Birds were just plain Fugly. Never owned a Fox Booger but had a few Fox Turd birds from the era way back in my younger flipping days. Fugly yes but a good point A-B car, drive well, very reliable and for me helped put food on the table.....

My Aunt had one, I believe it was an 80 T-Bird when I was a kid. I thought it was awesome at the time. Not a lot of cool new cars being produced back then as a kid growing up in the 80's. I have fond memories of that car.

I've always been a Mopar guy, but the right 67-68 Cougar could draw me over to the dark side. Any Cougars built after 1970, no thanks. Not even with Farah Fawcett trying to tempt me (she did Cougar TV commercials for a few years in the 70's).

A Ford designer actually said that these cars were the only cars he'd ever seen that weren't attractive from even one angle.
