Will a 1987 Monte SS grille assembly bolt to a 1983 Malibu wagon? Thanks

I think so, as I've seen pics of that set-up. Don't know what's involved. You might want to track down a Malibu-specific site for some more detailed information.

    Art,
I think you'll need a header panel from a Choo-choo El Camino, or El Camino SS.
You can also check out Lauren Engineering. They make various types out of fiberglass.
I have heard of guys using a Monte SS nose on a 2-dr Malibu coupe. There is some tweaking
involved..and may also require using the Monte doors. Apparently, the nose is slightly wider than a Malibu header panel.

I looked at a better picture and I am pretty sure it won't work.

I think you're right there. To be honest, I never liked the look of them on a Malibu wagon.
They seem to throw off the look of the car off balance. That's my observation. They look good on Monte SS' and El Caminos.

I know that this post is long gone cold, but I remember reading an article about the Choo Choo SS El Caminos and it said that it was actually a difficult adaptation since the Monte Carlo is either slightly wider or narrower than the Malibu/El Camino and the entire nose had to be massaged to fit.
