Hey, registration says it's a station wagon, so it must be, right? :D

Paid $600 for it with 203k miles, needs timing belt service, the tensioner is flapping around making all kinds of racket. I'm not gonna drive it until I get that fixed.

Here's a video on the car, it's pretty rough but for $600 I cannot complain, I have another wagon (of sorts), and it's all wheel drive (so I have no excuse not to make it into work, 'cept maybe "Gee, boss, I don't think that two wheel drive chevy van will do so well in the snow..." :D ). Needs a headlight and a few other minor things besides the timing belt, like a power steering hose that seems to seep a bit.

    Tell me what ya think:

Should be able to fix it and sell it to another lesbian pretty quickly if you wish.

I've done a few timing belt jobs on these engines. The Gates kit with the belt, tensioner, idlers, and water pump is a pretty good deal and of good quality.

I'm sorry, I must be missing a joke here, but hey, to each is own I suppose. I like the car, it'll do well in the snow, and I can find some trails in the mountains around here to have some fun on.

Gee thanks, no love for the Soo-Bah-Roo? These are great cars man, but like I said, to each is own. I love the idea of all wheel drive, just gotta find somewhere to have fun now. And er, probably some better tires. But you do live in the land of eternal sunshine, meanwhile my yard is a swamp from all the rain we got... Sooo... All wheel or four wheel or some kind equal to more than two wheel drive is needed around here, especially in the winter, the state is lazy about plowing our road at best. At worst, they forget it's existence entirely and the guys who own the junkyard a few miles up the road plow it.

No matter what y'all think, it's a leak free, trouble free car with only a minor issue that needs repairing. I can epoxy the headlight back together, past that the car is definitely going to have some use got out of it in the remainder of it's life.

And hey, it is a wagon, albeit a small one, so you can't hate on it too much.

Remember you asked and I thought! Just kidding anyway. For the price it is a good deal and will make a fun driver in the slush and snow.

I like it! Reminds me of a little Subaru I got for free from a friends parents back when I was in high school. They said just get it out of their driveway and it was mine. Their older son had abused the car pretty good- the bumpers were both bent up the front signal lights were smashed and it had no muffler. The thing ran great though! For less than $150 I had it good enough to just pass the CT safety inspection- pounded the bumpers back to more or less straight, tnew muffler, two retreaded tires and fixed the broken signal lenses with plastic cut from milk jugs! The inspector really looked at those lenses- he poked and pulled on them, but in the end let them pass.

I used and abused that poor Subaru on and off road for a year and a half and it never let me down! My friends could not believe how capable it was- of course if the car was actually worth any money I wouldn't have tried half the stuff I did with it! In the end I sold it to a friend's brother at a healthy profit.

Good luck with yours. May it treat you as good as mine did for me.

Yeah, I know, besides, I know my car is a pile of (something), but it's a cheap one. :D

Anyway, I found something disturbing while I was working on the car today... Gee, just a wire in place of a 100 amp fuse... NOTHING CAN GO WRONG HERE! I replaced the wire, with an actual fuse... Sooo... We'll see what happens when I find a battery I can use, seems both the ones I have are very much dead.
