lowering the wagon

    so this new (for me) 1965 country sedan wagon.
    anyways im thinking of lowering her but im unsure of how-to.
    should i cut springs? cut the front springs and lowering the rear with blocks? go the spendy route with bags all the way around? how did you guys do it? many gracias-

    yup..cut the coils and blocks !
    are you serious about 'baggin' it?
    if so...you'l have to consider yoinkin the leafs in the back...
    and doing a '4 link'
    ...if you just pull some leafs...that Big block will break the 'leftover' springs in a hurry..:mad:
    ....been dare...dund it..:p

    well the springs if im not mistaken are funny lookin, theyre tapered on both ends??!? so if i cut one side then it wont fit right? heres a pic of em...

    no they'l fit...you just cut the top!
    the actual perch on the top side(frame)..is the size of the outer spring diameter...with the lil crown for the tapered end..
    ..but it will hold the full size spring....follow? (y)

    ya know bubba if you got the cervases i got the torch,,,i,m just a tad bit north of you,,,,,or call benz spring and see what they charge fer a set of springs then you,ll be ready fer a set of five spoke astros and a chain steering wheel and a bobble head chee wa wa doggie on the dash :wave:

    yea right on ,,,,at work the dirt bags in the trucks,,,,, errrr i mean the airbags on the trucks pusher axles look about the right size to fit under my maliboo and by far cheaper i think than going to one of the outfits that advertise in the magazines,,,,i,m gonna sit down and get a price of the stuff and compare and i think i can put it all together for a pretty reasonable price,,,,i think at this point i,m gonna just bag the rear,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,:beerchug:

    YES...dont cut them too short!!!:D

    in my 'Rulebook of Life' (t/m)...in the chapter under "Kabooiiing"

    and so it reads...
    "darndest thing about coil springs...easy to shorten...hell to lengthen"
    ....aaaaammeeeenn:D
