Yes, here's an RX-2 that the seller thinks will fetch $15k. Maybe. Speaking also of silly tuner trends: this car also has the battery relocated to the trunk. Now, I understand the rationale. Move the heavy battery to the trunk to improve weight distribution. But does the tuner really know what the weight distribution was before, and after, moving the battery? And, more importantly, does he/she drive the car in a manner such that this will become important? Probably not. The only thing sillier than this is to paint the hood of your car black to look like a carbon-fiber hood. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mazda-Other...tr=true&hash=item1ea32180f4&item=131585900788
Well this is a nice looking little car for $6000 tops. It's also nice that the owner thinks that the buyer can choose to correct the defects if it bothers him. That is nice. These defects could cost an additional $1000 alone if I were the buyer and decided I wanted to correct those things. It's also nice that we could look at the relocated battery but not the interior or engine.
These were very popular in road racing and later in autocross. It may of been very common to move the battery to the trunk for balance and because there is almost no room in front. My 1974 Rx3 could wind out in 4th gear until the rev warning buzzer was going off. Some quick math showed the tiny engine was pulling the car to over 125 actual mph. They ran hard!!!
