Over the last few weeks I have installed a borg warner t5 where the saginaw 4spd was. I had to move the crossmember back about 2 inches and used a shorter driveshaft. A conversion u-joint had to be used with the driveshaft I had. The gearbox was from a 85 Firebird, so I had to use a tailhousing from a S10 unless I modified the bench seat.

Did you get your driveshaft shortened, do it yourself, or find one the proper size?

Found the proper size, took some garbage to the dump a couple years ago and found a stack of 1/2 dozen driveshafts someone threw out. One was exactly 3" shorter than the original one, just what i needed. One man's junk is indeed another man's treasure. Every now and then the pack rat comes out of me.

That does look like a great project, some updated pics would be cool.

I know my brothers 67 Biscayne wagon is nowhere close to being that complete, your car is rust free compared to his. Keep up the good work.
