Happened last friday at Jay Leno's Garage

1976 Chevy Caprice Estate car/boat combo is still for sales, lots of looky loos;listed on craigs list;so I get a call from this guy who asks what i would charge for a day for the car for a movie shoot;I ask which one-he states jay leno's garage-I say: I am coming up there to Los Angeles/Burbank, no charge!!! Turns out they are shooting new series for Jay Leno's Garage show. this one will be on wagons and air in September or October;
Was promised a tour of his collection and meet him. Left at 5;45am ,took me 2 1/2 hrs with no traffic to get there;industrial area with what looked like low office buildings; some nice young guy came up and knew the car already from pics I had sent; we drive into the commercial door and holy crap-we are in the collection-absolutely awesome-cars as far as you can see; they take the car and position it they way they need with a real nice 1972 Citroen Brake and a early 70's Toyota FJ series; while they set up, do the lighting, do close ups,interiors ,exteriors, clamshell up and down etc, we get to talking with the other car guys and can wonder through the collection ourselves. Just phenomenal. Am attaching some pictures.
Next thing you know, a gentleman from other car shows I recognize walks by, and it is Donald Osbourne, you may have seen on Waht's my Car worth and others; I walk up to him and he was just the nicest guy to talk cars to.
As we are standing at my Chevy, Jay Leno walks up with his office bag and show clothes on a hanger in his hand and introduces himself to me!!! Same here, just a wonderful easy to talk to guy. Then they are ready to do the shoot and Jay and Donald do the taping and we all could stand real close buy to watch it all. Took about 30 minutes. Best of all,they showed how the clam shell works and at the end the car of the three with the best % increase in value over the next 5 years-- drum roll- the Chevy wagon.Then more chat with both of them, Donald also saying he has not seen a wagon in this nice shape for a long time, made me real happy. Just a great and fun experience and I can not say enough good things about Jay and Donald. Enjoy the pics.

That's great, I ran into Jay a couple of years ago at the Dream Cruise, he liked my 69 Sprint Firebird, and it happened so quickly I didn't even think about a photo, then he was recognized and the chance was gone.

Glad you got the opertunity, I will look for the show this fall!!!!
