    Hey guys, long time no post. Here's the `92 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser I just bought. Never mind the wheel/tire combo, they will be gone next week. (waiting on whitewalls!)

    It has 195k on it, but it's it pretty good shape for its age and location(Ohio). It has some rust, but it's hidden by the body cladding. I was really looking for a Roadmaster, especially one with woodgrain and an LT1, but I got this for $1,100 with a bunch of new parts to rebuild the front suspension. I guess I can't complain.

    Good bits include:
    5.7 TBI;
    factory tow package; 3.23 FD and LSD (confirmed by RPO; LSD does work!;)
    a map pocket and a real leather-wrapped steering wheel;
    Third row seat;
    VISTA ROOF!

    Bad bits:
    A/C is currently non-op and R12;
    driver window needs help going down and up; rear windows do not go down;
    purple tint; currently very stuck on rear window, (not sure how to remove;)
    leather on driver's seat is shot, not looking forward to trying to find a replacement!;
    Multifunction switch has the usual GM maladies.

    I plan on fixing the wrongs, which shouldn't be too hard, aside from finding a seat to replace mine. The electrical bit scares me, though.

    Nothing crazy is planned here, just looking for a snazzy cruiser to replace my old Caprice Estate I sold before I move to Germany.

    Converting to R134a is actually easy and just a little bit of effort will make it run very efficiently. It's showing a little wear, but those can be fixed; it's very good-looking, otherwise. That's probably only the third or fourth Olds whale wagon I've ever seen.

    I have a white one/red interior with a transplanted RM 350, and RM cloth front seats. I also have the red one that is my avatar.

    Check the right window interior wipe to see if it is rolling under when the glass goes down. You may also have a gummed up track, and/or broken sliders. If it is the sliders, replace them with rollers. Rear windows are probably the sliders...use rollers on all of them. If you want to use sliders make sure they do not crack when you install them. If they crack, you will be replacing them again in the near future.

    Since you have the heater strips, a cheapie steamer should get it off. Scraping is not recommended. There is rear glass available without the heater strips, but in Ohio I would think you would want them.

    Your chance of getting a driver's seat in good condition is "0" If you can afford to have it reupholstered, that is the way to go...your interior color is camel.

    What exactly is wrong with your multifunction switch/lever?

    All OCCs have the vista roof, just like the RM.

    The bolt pattern is 5 on 5 or 127mm. Stock rims are about 7 inch. The rims have a +6mm/+.5 inch offset. The maximum width rim for the back is about 9 inches.

    Your SPID on the passenger's side D pillar/gate jam has all of the option codes. A FSM will have the breakdown. 3.23 is GU5, LSD is G80

    Agreed. Windex applied over several days and left to soak can loosen tint too (what I've always managed to do).
