Marshall, thanks so much for this brochure link, it is AWESOME!!! If anyone knows of a hood emblem/badge for my Rambler it would be great. See attachment Thanks
Johann, sweet Rambler and Downunder we had I believe from 66 available at dealerships prior to that it was personal import out of Canada . by the way ModelT1 pipe out the backs the only way to go from the other side
Welcome from Nova Scotia, Canada to SWF RamblerRogue440. What an interesting theard, I really like your little Rambler. I'm glad the son decided to sell it and not keep it to decay in the back yard. I'm sure his dad would approve. I wonder if your the first member from South Africa?
Hi Fannie, Thanks for the welcome, that would be interesting to know, maybe admin could look into it - would be nice to know..... Can't wait to go and get the wagon....
We're a worldly group fannie. There are even several members here from my country...... Florida. It's a jungle down here!
So, last week I went and got the Rambler (about 800km's, or about 500miles for you all...) I towed it back with what we call a piggy-back or mobi-jack, and all went smoothly. The paint is a bit worse than on the pictures - I bought this vehicle without actually seeing it, but the body is nice and straight, and it is a complete car, something that's quite scarce these days here in SA. A local mechanic that works on old cars will come and have a look tomorrow, and asses the situation in regards to the motor, as it stood for 12 years+, so hopefully it is not too bad, as I want to start driving it ASAP. Cheers, Johann
The wagon looks very nice. Possibly the paint will rub out. We call those little traiers a "car dolly". They are used by class A motorhome owners to pull small cars as they travel thru this jungle called Florida.
So, I took a picture of the "built plate" of the Rambler (attached) and then did some research, and came across a great piece: http://motor-assemblies.blogspot.com/2012/01/motor-assemblies-limited.html Quite a log read, but figures per models built at "appendix B" Here they state that Rambler Rogue Station wagons as they were called here, were built from March 1969 to November 1970, that's it, with total station wagon figures built at anly 736......so it is quite scarce....
