well finally got moved into my new shop after 13 years of building harleys, rebuilding motors and just general **** out of a small single car garage. rented a 32 x 40 shop 10 mins from my home. got the wagon back from paint and finally got the engine and tranny bolted in, paint didn't turn out exactly what i wanted so we are going to sand it down and satin clear it, there wasn't much body work to do on it other than filling trim holes but the work he did looks good for how much i paid. also trying to decide on wheel color, painted one hot rod red lol but most people i have shown it to are telling me to go silver

this was when i got it for anyone that hasn't seen it lol. and yes i still have all the side trim, alot of it is broken but probably fixable, just decided to remove it all and go with a clean look, no plans on selling the car so originality doesn't mean much to me at this point.

Coming along nicely! I always like those rally wheels in a close to the original finish, the gray/silver looking color. I had a old pair of them I sanded down and had painted silver for a set of ET Streets for my pop's Malibu and they look surprisingly close to original finish for not buying the correct GM wheel paint.
Congrats on the new building and looking good!

Looking nice. As much as I like everything red or trimmed red I agree with the original GM silver wheels. Especially with that color.

    Looks great!

Instead of red on those rally wheels, how about the orange color from your engine block?

Looking good. I'm glad you removed that cheap looking front turn signal indicator that they had to remove the cross flags to install.

actually iam taking a **** load of flack for that lol, i didnt like it either but it was a factory order option, side marker lights were not manditory until 1968 but in 66 you could order them as an option. my buddy just wont cut me any slack for removing the trim etc!!!! i think iam going to bolt back on the flags and get some 454 emblems

That must be a '66 only thing. I'm pretty well up to speed on all of the goofy/oddball options for the full size '67 and I've never seen or heard of those. The reason I made my comment is it looks like somebody took off the 327 cross flags emblem after they had been on there for a lot of years and installed those cheap looking lights.

the marker light was placed right under the 327 and flags, factory punched holes, not drilled, pretty rare from what i have been told

You might have been given a bit of a false story on those front side markers. As far as I know, they were never offered as optional equipment until they became mandatory in '68. I do remember seeing kits though, at auto parts stores where you could 'retrofit' your pre '68 vehicle with the 'new' marker lamps. One kit for front with amber lenses, one kit for rear with red lenses... You front lamps look just like the ones in those kits I saw.....
