Hey members, the CP did not find a buyer on ebay. Here are some photos from last week. Thinking about putting it on cars-on-line.com.

Don't give up, not the best time of year to be selling also. ;)

.............You could always park it in my drive way until it sells, I'm sure the old girl knows her way back to the island:D

You can store it in my driveway. It's warmer and if you leave the keys in it I'll take it out for a little drive now and then to keep things loosened up.
    Good luck on the sale.

Ebay has a function that allows you to search completed auctions. I do this frequently for Oldsmobiles, mainly to get a feel for what cars are selling for (as opposed to asking prices). The reality is that VERY FEW cars actually sell on ebay. Most are unsold with "reserve not met", especially the higher dollar ones. Even then, if you follow this regularly, you'll find that even cars that "sell" really don't, as the exact same ad shows up a couple of weeks later. I find Craigslist to be a better choice. Of course, be realistic with your pricing, also.

Thanks Joe. That's interesting. Sadly these listings are where many get their asking prices which keeps most vehicles way more expensive than they really sell for.
Sort of like the big auctions.

People don't seem to be able to tell the difference between an ASKING price and as SELLING price. The numbers are meaningless unless cash changes hands.

    90Merc,
You might also want to consider listing your CP on Hemmings. The gentleman who bought my 92 Cadillac back in 2012 sold his 89 Country Squire after posting an ad on Hemmings this past fall. The car was in beautiful, original, garage kept condition with around 75,000 miles. He got several calls on it the very first day, and got his full asking price which was 8 grand. Frankly, I was surprised he got that much for it. From what I have seen the last few years, nice examples of Fords and Mercurys from the 80s and 90s usually don't bring more than 6 grand. Good luck with your sale.

    Mike

The CP will be listed on Hemmings in the next day or so for $7500.
