I heard in another thread that 1990 Mercury Grand Marquis Wagons could be ordered with air deflectors.

Are the deflectors like this one pictured below? When I first read about them I thought they would attach to the front of the roof-rack.

They were designed to run air across the rear window to aid in keeping dirt, loose snow, etc off the window to improve rearward visibility, so they usually mount to the area as far back as possible

Really doubt it. Would be no reason for one up front. But you could add one if you'd like.
As written above they were designed to help keep the rear window clean and keep exhaust fumes out. As an added benefit they held the rear down when drag racing or grocery shopping for better traction.

    Thanks.

The idea of one up front is for aerodynamics.

:rofl2::rofl2:I've seen bricks with rounded edges. They fall at a pretty good speed straight down.

A lot of the Whale wagons and later wagons are fairly aerodynamic.

Yeah. The whales don't have windows that go into the tailgate, though. Could a whale be modified to work that way?
